Are You A Victim? Thank God Cuffin' Season Is Over!

"These h*es keep callin' I ain't pickin' up" - word to Fabolous track 'Cuffin Season' on his latest 'Soul Tape.' However, before we jump right into this subject, lets get a brief definition of what "Cuffing Season" actually means.

According to UrbanDictionary.com, cuffing season means "during the Fall and Winter months people who would normally rather be single or promiscuous find themselves along with the rest of the world desiring to be "cuffed" or tied down by a serious relationship. The cold weather and prolonged indoor activity causes singles to become lonely and desperate to be cuffed".

Now that we have a clear meaning of what "cuffing season" truly means, lets dive right into it.

First, stop getting into your feelings by playing Drake or Jasmine Sullivan. That will not help your situation. Of course, no one wants to be lonely during the winter time specifically with endless cold nights, so it makes sense to gravitate towards a person to stay indoors with.

Secondly, is it really worth investing time, emotions and money just for a season? And if it does lead into something serious, is the relationship or situation you are in strong enough, to push back the temptations that summer brings up?

As we slowly transition into the beautiful summer weather, the opportunity to wear less and less clothes grows. The opportunity to travel, meet and network with new people also increases. Meaning if you are in a relationship, the opportunity to not be faithful to your partner has a higher chance of occurring than in the winter.

Lastly, don't just date because you are lonely. Find someone who actually interests you, and build a friendship with them. So when summertime comes, you can both enjoy the weather together.
