Young Thug: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly (With The Facts)

It doesn't feel too long ago since Young Thug released the single that skyrocketed his career, 'Stoner'. A matter fact, it was only last year that the rapper hit mainstream and now about year with some change later, he's been in the forefront for some of hip-hop's most interesting news.

The Good

There's no denial that Young Thug has talent. From Rolling StoneComplex, XXL to The Fader claiming that he is one of the dopest artists to watch out for, it was only a matter of time before his career caught fire.

His record "Stoner" released back in October of 2013 skyrocketed up the charts. Also, after becoming affiliated with Birdman, it took his career to new heights as the Cash Money CEO took him under his wing.

Check out what I found on the web (which is fact-checked):

Thug is known for his eccentric and diverse, sing-song style. XXL called him a "rap weirdo" and "the standout guest appearance in Gucci Mane's Trap God 2 and Waka Flocka Flame's DuFlocka Rant 2", commenting that "Thug's charisma, unhinged flow and hooks make his music intriguing."
Pitchfork also called his style "extraordinarily distinctive" and wrote that "What Young Thug brings to the table, then, isn't just a weird, experimental approach to rapping, but presence, persona, mystique, and, potentially, star power."
The Fader described his music, saying "In a typical Young Thug verse, he slurs, shouts, whines and sings, feverishly contorting his voice into a series of odd timbres like a beautifully played but broken wind instrument." Thug usually uses Auto-Tune in his songs.

From recording with Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Future and additional mainstream artists, Thug's affiliation with Cash Money and ability to "make records quickly" granted him a spot at the table from as far as we could see. I mean he was and still is making records with some of the most successful artists in the game... so my question is, is it him or the media making him seem worse than what he is?

The Bad

Now, with the close relationship Birdman to people calling him "gay" due to him wearing a Hooters shirt in his latest video to his mannerisms... everyone has something to say about Young Thug.

But what has been the most memorable moment of all, is his alleged "beef" with Lil Wayne.

Young Thug said in an interview with Hip-Hop Weekly not too long ago that he dropped his album Barter 6 to 'pay homage" to the rapper, Wayne. He also told Complex Magazine:

"I want to get in the studio with Wayne more than anybody in the world."

But in recent news, it seems that Birdman as well as Young Thug have been tied too Lil Wayne's tour bus shooting.

And this is when things start to get a bit ugly.

The Ugly

Thug was arrested earlier this week for terroristic threats to a guard at the mall. Earlier today, a warrant was issued granting police to raid his home,  now just been hit with felony cocaine possession, felony marijuana possession and 3 counts felony gun possession.

Cops raided the house of the rapper after issuing arrest warrants where the found all the crap, and not to mention, while all of this was occurring, Thug was in custody for the terroristic threat charge.

I cannot imagine the kind of stress that this man is under. Not taking sides, but it's crazy to believe that he says he looks up to Lil Wayne, but all these allegations are working against him.

We may never know the truth but one thing is for sure, Young Thug and Birdman would want to stay prayed up. Although the rapper made bond a couple hours ago, which grants him to travel, work, etc., I think he would want to spend majority of his time getting lawyered up.

What do you think about this whole situation? Is it fair? Or do you think he's another victim of the system trying to incarcerate a rapper? So many questions, tweet me or weigh in below with your thoughts.
