Up On Game: Soul Band, The Internet Is My New Found Love

The Internet, a dope soul band and Odd Future's affiliate, have just released their album. The project is called Ego Death and it placed number 9 on the Billboards with features from Janelle Monae, Tyler, the Creator, Jay Z's Vic Mensa and many more.

Now quickly put, I am absolutely in love with their music.

As I was surfing Youtube, I came across their music video "Girl" (you can view below) and I became extremely interested in the group. Syd, the lead-singer of the group has a tom-boyish look with a soft, mellow voice, which makes her even more dope than what she already is.

If you listen to their music, their beats are a mix between that 90s indie era with a futuristic twist. While the vocals and melodies remind you of the music we used to listen to from singer Jill Scott or the music group, Floetry.

The Internet changes the game for what we know as R&B music and they are truly breaking boundaries many are afraid to pass. From the visual work in their music videos to the direction, The Internet is in a lane of their own and I am excited to see how they grow musically.

Oh, and by the way, the band holds 6 members: Syd, Matt Martians, Patrick Paige II, Christopher Smith, Jameel Bruner, & Steve Lacy who you can see pictured above.

If you are diggin' their style, check out some of their records below and let me know what you think:
